My role: illustration and frame-by-frame animation

The docu-style brand story for Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions features leaders with great missions. As a first step, I designed 16:9 compositions depicting various United States landscapes. From the countryside, and coastline, to cities and the whole continent’s light. Then I designed how the transitions between them would move.

The next step included creating a transition between three life-action parts to fully animated sequences. I used the cel digital technique. The visual language was led by the director’s decision to match the illustrations implemented on the brand’s website. I followed the provided references. The hand-drawn style was visualized by using the researched digital brushes in cel animations. The background texture choice is the director’s vision of the tactile aspect of the brand’s impact.
